Granule Filling Machine

Granule filler can dispense and fill granule porducts (includes pure granular product or a mixture of granules and powder) into bottles or sachets. They are commonly used for packaging grain (like coffee bean, nuts, peanut, peas, seeds), tea, or dry spice (mixture of granules and powder).

Measuring method of granule filling machine

Volumetric cup and weighing-based filling system are the most common measuring methods of granule filling machine.

For volumetric cup:

Using adjustable volumetric cups to measure the fixed volume of granular products. Granules fall into the cup from the hopper and when machine run, filled cups discharge granules into the container or pouch.

Volumetric cup granule filler is not suitable for products with uneven density, irregular shapes, fragile texture, high value, or those requiring strict weight control. If the material contains powder, the powder will fill the gaps between the granules, resulting in inconsistent weight under the same volume and increased errors. Volumetric cup filling machines are more suitable for free-flowing, uniform-density bulk granules such as rice and mung beans.

For weighing-based filling system

Machine uses multiple weighing hoppers, each connected to load cells.Granular products are fed into the hoppers through vibrating channels. Control system calculates the best combination of hoppers to reach the target weight. The selected hoppers release granules simultaneously into the container or sachets.

This kind of granule filling machine has higher filling accuracy, independent of product density or shape. It will be more flexible and suitable for irregular or fragile granules such as nuts, snacks, dried fruits, or mixture of powder and granule like dry spice. Normally, the quantity of weighing heads are customizable for improving working speed.

FAQ

Q: How to adjust filling volume for volumetric cup filling machine?

Changing the cup size or cup depth can reach the purpose of changing filling volume. Normally operation can adjust the depth of measuring cup by moving bottom plate to control the cup depth. Another way is chaging cup sets. When the filling capacity varies greatly,  interchangeable cup sets will be offered to meet production needs.

Q: Can it be used for mixture of dry spice?

Actually this depends on your dry spice. Normally we will recommend that you use mixing machine to mix original material, check the mixture first after mixing. If the mixture contains a high proportion of coarse or chunky materials, we suggest weighing-based granule filling machine. If the mixture has only a small proportion of coarse materials but a higher proportion of powder, then auger filling machine will be better.
